Thanksgiving in Milan 2014
Easy Milano with the endorsement of The United States Consulate in Milan and the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy organized this past 27th November a Community Thanksgiving Dinner at La Tradizionale.
The event welcomed Americans, Italians and all international friends of Milan’s expat community to share this very important holiday as a large family.
With a warm message by Reverend Vickie Sims, guests made their way to their tables shared with family and new friends.
The menu – a traditional Thanksgiving menu – was meticulously prepared by La Tradizionale’s chef and featured typical pumpkin soup, autumn salad, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and of course, oven roasted turkey (twelve of them)!
As the evening progressed and new friendships were made, photographers Sara El Beshbichi and Francesco Ciranna from the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia captured the evening’s magical atmosphere and a few family portraits at the Photo Corner. Children had their share of fun with non-stop amusement by Rapanello Entertainment. Our Thank You board slowly became filled with heartfelt messages from all our guests.
On behalf of Easy Milano’s Charity Program we would like to thanks all the participants for their Thanksgiving spirit. We were able to collect a significant amount of toys for the Toys for Tots program supported by the US Marine Corps Reserve. Additionally we were also able to contribute to Fondazione Progetto Arca Onlus thanks to the donations by Estrele Cakes, Ambrosio Vini and ShowBees’ tickets to Beauty & The Beast show.
A special thank you goes out to our volunteers Sally Semeria, Kelly Hudspeth, Serena Crosetto, Gambetta King, Cynthia Columbus and Ashley Slaughter for their collaboration and support.
Easy Milano wishes to thank all the guests for contributing to creating the largest Thanksgiving Dinner Milan has ever seen!
