This year’s edition of J4Milan Independence Day Celebration took the shape of a three-day American Festival from July 3rd to the 5th, 2015 at the Vigorelli Stadium. The event was once again promoted by Easy Milano and the J4Milan Organizing Committee with the endorsement of the United States Consulate General in Milan, the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Città Metropolitana di Milano and the Comune di Milano.
The festival listed among the official events of Expo in Città, was an embodiment of American culture combining food and sports including the IFL Superbowl XXXV. Numerous stands offering hamburgers, hot dogs, cupcakes and more lined the exterior and interior of the stadium. While Country Events showcased some country dancing, Visit USA promoted travel to the United States and KC School provided entertainment for families with children. Also featured at the event was a Statue of Liberty built by students of the International School of Milan, over 3 meters tall – made with recycled food packaging; a mechanical bull ride brought by Showgames to help raise funds for Easy Milano’s Charity Program, which this year was destined to BAM, Bimbi Allergici a Milano. A vintage American car and motorcycle exhibit was also present courtesy of Rusty Garage.
U.S. Consul General, Ambassador Philip T. Reeker; President of the USA Pavilion at Expo 2015, Dorothy Cann Hamilton; Comune di Milano’s Councilwoman for Well Being and Sport, Chiara Bisconti; Mayor of Palermo and President of FIDAF (Italian Federation of American Football) Hon.
